Originally a USAAF airfield, turning to a RAF airfield after the war, Boxted Airfield is full of history. Boxted Airfield was so called (even though it is actually in Langham) due to another USAAF base in the Norfolk area – which already had the name ‘Langham’ Airfield. The museum here, at our Langham, comprises of two Nissen Huts, refurbished and kitted out with a whole host of informative wall plaques. With some fantastic history of the airfield, along with some photos and information of its greatest pilots, even a couple of photos of Glenn Miller when he had a passing visit!
